Located in Vancouver Island, Victoria is a charming city filled with culture, history, and well, beauty. A hop, skip, and a 35 minute helijet flight (stunning view from above, by the way!) away from downtown Vancouver, Victoria is the perfect destination for those who are looking for an escape from the busy-ness of a big city, but not yet ready for a total (radio) silence in the wilderness!
Whether you’re wining and dining, shopping, or simply there for sightseeing, here are couple things you can do:
Upon arrival, brunch
Blue Fox Cafe – Local eatery, located in Fort Street. Specializing in all-day breakfast, brunch and lunch!
Get Caffeinated at Fernwood coffee to fight that Post-brunch food comma.
Check in at the Fairmont Empress
Hands down, one of the most stunning hotels in town – she really is an icon. Located in the heart of the city, right by the water, across from the BC legislature building. this hotel has literally the best location.
Champagne Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont Empress, because everyone needs that Royal Treatment! Believe it or not, sipping tea and drink champagne with your pinky up it’s a common (re: proper) thing to do.
To celebrate the Royal Visit (the other, actual Royal visit, not mine HA!), Fairmont Empress introduces the Champagne Afternoon Tea, presented and created by the former Royal Chef Darren McGrady himself. This special afternoon tea is available till November 30th! (So Hurry up!)
Afternoon Walk before dinner around downtown
Dine at Brasserie L’ecole – the place to be for chic french food. Be there right at 5.30 for the fist seating to avoid long wait (yes! even for a table for one!)
And if they ask, the answer is always, the fancy truffle fries, always.
Night Cap at Veneto, located inside of Hotel Rialto
Pre Brunch Hangover Cure – #Cortados at Hey Happy!
Newly launched Brunch Menu at OLO Restaurant is definitely a must try!
Dish of choice that day was a steak and egg, can’t really go wrong with that!
Post Brunch Hangover Cure: Shopping at Johnson St.
Citizen definitely is one my new favorite shops, and it’s conveniently located across from Hey Happy!
Things I packed, slash wore:A Club Monaco tweed jacket, Uniqlo white oxford shirt, *new* Barbour Vest from Citizen, a pair of streeeetch denim, New Balance Kicks from New Balance Vancouver, and a Fendi Day Bag!
I cannot wait to be back! Till next time, Victoria!
